Is the Chandler Police Department currently hiring?

How long is the selection process?
The selection process usually takes about 90 days from the date of the written test.
Where can I get an application for Police Officer, Dispatcher, or Emergency Call Taker?
You must register at the National Testing Network (NTN) to sign up for the written test. The application you complete for NTN is separate from the City of Chandler. You must also complete a City of Chandler application to be considered for this recruitment.
I am an out of state applicant. How many trips will I have to make to Arizona during the selection process?
A minimum of 3 trips is usually required to complete the selection process unless the state you live in has the National Testing Network in it. If your state has the National testing Network you can take the written test at that location.
When is the next Police Academy date?
The Police Academy start dates vary due to scheduling from various police agencies. The Chandler Police Department does not base hiring on the Police Academy dates. Successful applicants will be hired when the selection process has been completed.
Is the Police Academy a live on academy?
No, the Chandler Police Department utilizes the Arizona Law Enforcement Academy located by South Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona and the Mesa Police Academy located in Mesa, Arizona. Both academies are usually Monday thru Friday.
I am a graduate of an AZPOST Police Academy. Do I have to go back through the academy?
No, the Chandler Police Department will accept all peace officer certifications from AZPOST Training Academy’s.
I am a police officer in another state. Do I have to go back through the police academy?
No, if you are a current police officer or have left in good standing within three years you will not have to attend the police academy again providing you can pass the AZPOST Waiver Exam. All lateral officers are required to pass the Chandler Police Department’s written test, physical agility test, and go through the selection process like a regular applicant.
